"Let's make this happen"

Author Bio

I am an Italian student who has lived in Italy, the UK and most recently the US. At age 13, I left Milan to attend Sevenoaks boarding school in the UK, an absolutely incredible experience. I then went on to study at Cornell University where I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Information Engineering (arguably similar to Industrial Engineering). Throughout my time at Cornell I have been involved in a variety of organizations which have allowed me to grow in different ways, but the international community and connection that I have been able to forge with students that have had similar life experiences and journeys to me is something I value very highly.

You invest a more than necessary amount of money in items like the neck pillow that you lose before you even get to the airport. You have to leave your…

Ownership of Politics

Published: November 12, 2016

This week, America elected a new president. A lot of people have been talking about it and while I have a lot to say about the matter, that’s not really what I want to do here. Instead I want to talk about how the lives we have led influence our political urgency and the ownership that we feel with regards to politics. People who have lived all over the world (or maybe it’s just me) will typically be aware of and care about politics in multiple countries. Me in 819 words

Published: November 7, 2016

I wasn’t quite sure how to get started and I figured I could start by explaining how I got here, so here goes: I am originally from Italy, both my parents are Italian, the vast majority of my family is Italian and I like to think my first words were in Italian. However in terms of identity I would describe myself as a third culture kid, a term that I only discovered this weekend, meaning that I have spent a decent portion of my ‘formative years’ outside of Italy. When I was 2, my family and I moved to London where we lived for about…
