The notorious debating society and speaker venue Oxford Union is a university entity like no other. It is considered the most prestigious debating society in the world and hosts a wide range of celebrity debates, interviews and speaches every year. Today, the union announced its scheduled guests for the coming term – a list everyone should either be excited about or envious of.

StudyAdvantage has compiled a short list of the highlights from the list below. Have a read and see which name you’re most excited about.


  • Anna Fendi is the Creative co-ordinator and Head of Development for the world famous fashion house Fendi, which she is running alongside her sisters.


  • Zara Larsson is a global pop phenomenon who has blown up in recent years. Her music can now be heard all over the world, and she has amassed millions of loyal fans through progressive social media activity. Zara is an outspoken feminist and uses her platform to promote her political ideas. Check out her music video below to get to know Zara a bit better.


  • Hailing from Cleveland, rapper, actor and producer Kid Cudi originally rose to fame as an artist signed to the Kanye West imprint G.O.O.D. Music. Since a few years back, he has committed to producing his own instrumentals. Cudi is also known for his philanthropic efforts, such as raising awareness regarding mental health.


  • Roberto Cavalli is undoubtedly a fashion icon. The inventor of sand-blasted denim has become a household name, being the namesake of his numerous luxury product lines ranging from perfumes to home styling products.


  • Four time boxing champion Carl Froch has been named Figher of the Year by World Boxing News and named Sportsman of the year by GQ magazine.

  • Chris Anderson has lead the rapid expansion of TED, the non-profit organization dealing in “ideas worth spreading”. The TED Talk franchise tour has since its inception never lost momentum, and largely thanks to Anderson, who is the curator of the talks. Before involving himself in TED, he has had a distinguished career as a journalist and publisher.


  • Author Naomi Wolf has written for massive publications like The Guardian, The Nation and The Huffington Post, and understandably so as she has a lot to share having had a long career in politics. She was formerly political advisor to both Bill Clinton and Al Gore.

  • Fantasy nerds alert! Sean Bean, the well-known, Emmy Award winning actor, plays key roles in both the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Game of Thrones series.


  • Another award winning TV show star – Robin Wright – stars as Claire Underwood in House of Cards and is also a distinguished director and activist.
