International Women’s Day – Thoughts by a SOAS Student
Published: March 8, 2017
I don’t believe in gender equality, I believe in equality. I don’t believe in women rights, I believe in human rights. I don’t think the word gender should even exist. I truly hope that one day we’ll not even need it and that we will not even need to celebrate on the 8th of March, because 8th of March should be every day. I believe in a world in which it doesn’t matter if you are man, woman, black, white, blue, rich, poor, tall, short, ugly, pretty. I believe in a world in which we are all the same. I believe in a world were, no matter where were you’re born, we can all achieve the same goals. I believe in in a world of JUSTICE, FREEDOM and EQUALITY. I believe in a world of respect. Respect for humans, for animals and for nature. Yah, I believe in a world of RESPECT.
WE MUST RESPECT EACH OTHER AND RESPECT WHAT IS GIVEN TO US.
Respect through actions, thoughts and will. I believe in a world where my victory is not your loss – a world without competition. I believe in a society of harmony. I believe in a society not driven by greed, in a society were the biggest matter is not material wealth. A society driven by passion. A society in which ambition means make it better for all.
I think that the 8th of March should be everyday. I celebrate International Women’s day not only for women empowerment but for a world of equality. A world where you can be who you are and dream about what you want. Today 8th of March is of extreme importance because it reminds us that if we unite and fight together for our rights we can change things.
Happy International Women’s Day to everybody
