Snowfall and Election Night

Published: November 13, 2016

This week we actually got snow in Copenhagen! Some friends and I had been to the movies at Palads on Tuesday to see the Accountant, and when we got out, the snow was falling. So we biked home in the “snow storm”, and continued the night with the most American snacks we could find, staying up to watch the results of the election. It is quite fascinating how much time is spent on following the American election here in Scandinavia – on Tuesday, my snap story was flooded with friends who were staying up all night to watch how it would unfold.

I am sorry that it turned out the way it did. I am sorry for everyone in the US who feel like the current president does not represent them, protect them, or care about them. Of course, the result of the election is pretty much everything that has been discussed this past week, and on Wednesday we even stopped class to watch Trump’s speech. Now, I guess we just have to wait and see what will come – I am still not really grasping the idea that Donald Trump is actually the President of the United States.
