Unexpected perks of interning with a theater company: extra acting training at the in-company workshop! The play explored over the 30 hours of free rehearsal space at A.R.T. New York is Ludvig Holberg’s The Political Tinker which centers around a hubris possessed working-class man being fooled into believing he has obtained the position of public office, and while there, making a complete mess before realizing he has no qualifications whatsoever to be in power. While written 300 years ago, Holberg’s script somehow seems strangely relevant. Except for that we in modern times only keep hoping someone will pull out a camera and shout “you’ve been punk’d!”.
