When applying for college one might have doubts regarding cultural fit, especially when applying to a university abroad. Will I fit in? – a common commonly asked question lacking a simple answer. The stakes are high, and you only have one chance to make the right decision (unless you want to apply again the following year, that is).
But do not fret – StudyAdvantage has all the information you need to ensure a perfect fit. Here, we list the universities with the most diverse and international student bodies in the world. At these institutions, being a misfit means fitting in. Diversity is encouraged and you’ll be accepted no matter your background. Check out the list below.

McGill University, Canada
Canada has recently branded itself as a humanitarian superpower, building on it’s diversity as a strength. McGill, located in the French-speaking part of the country, is at the very forefront of progressive ideology AND diversity. With a nearly 30% proportion of international students, McGill is one of the most international schools in the world. What makes this school extra diverse is its position as a bridge between the French- and English divide that exists in Canada. This makes for a rather unique campus culture.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA
MIT is not only one of the best ranked schools academically, but also features among the most international schools in the world. Coincidence? Probably not.
About 30% of the school’s total student body is from outside the country, and some 42% amongst its graduate students. Additionally, the school is ranked #1 in the world for proportion of international faculty members.

National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore
Singapore’s flagship university – NUS reputation has sky rocketed since it’s inception in the 70’s. The school has had an outspoken international focus ever since, and today more than 100 different nationalities are represented among its 37,000 strong student body. On top of this, the university is located in the multi-cultural hub that is Singapore – the perfect home for a global citizen.

University College London (UCL), UK
London’s self proclaimed “Global University”, UCL’s student body features more than 150 different nationalities. Since its inception, the school has been a true pioneer for diversity – it was originally founded on the premise of opening up higher education to students, regardless of race, class and religion. Furthermore, it was the first UK University to admit women on equal terms as men.
