About Northumbria University

Northumbria University has two campuses. The main one is located in Newcastle upon Tyne, which has been voted the best city for students a number of times, and the other one is in London, very close to Liverpool Street Station and the financial and start-up hub of the city.

Northumbria University is quickly establishing its reputation. Out of more than a hundred universities in the UK, Northumbria is currently among the top 50 and ranks even better for certain individual subjects such as Architecture, Design and Crafts, Nursing and Midwifery, Criminology or Publishing.

The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, both full time and part time, programmes in 16 different academic departments. While all departments offer good quality teaching, the school is probably most renowned for its business school, which, by gaining double accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, has joined the top 1% of business schools in the whole world. There is even a trading room in the Newcastle Business School, which enables incorporation of real time financial operations and management into the teaching. What is more, Northumbria University ranks surprisingly well in student satisfactions surveys with some subjects receiving over 99%.

Apart from having some pretty great teaching facilities, the university’s location offers its students great social and sport activities. The Northumbria University Student’s Union organizes quiz and karaoke nights, has three bars and a concert venue, which has hosted a number of big music artists including The Libertines, Ed Sheeran and Marina and the Diamonds.
